Annex

Good to see more content for Gears of War every now and then. Today as most know, the new game mode Annex was released. In a nutshell it is quite similar to the Domination game mode of Unreal Tournament, but there are quite a few diffrences. I am sure you can find all the details of Annex online.

Anyhoo, I just played about a good three hours or so with a few buddies from work, though not enough showed up, so only had a game of two vs two for the entire session, but I can only imagine the insanity with four vs. four! I really dig the infinte re-spawn really brought back more of the old UT feeling to the game.

The weapon tweaks added in this update are good, but the roadie run is screwed up or over tweaked in my opinion. Me and some of my friends were sticking to walls and cover more often than we wanted to while running. Before the update we did not notice that much of wall sticking while running.

Aside from the running glitch, it was all good fun… there is another downside to Annex which I will personally feel, a lack of sleep due to the fact that I’ll be playing more Gears online with some of the guys from work!
